Rebuilding my life was not one big, brave decision. It happened through many small choices to keep moving forward.

I have lived through difficult chapters: childhood challenges, personal loss, and toxic work environments. At one point, a workplace experience affected my confidence so deeply that I began questioning myself and what I knew to be true.

My body was telling me something was wrong too. I was in physical pain while continuing to show up, work, and push through.

Eventually, I realized something had to change.

Remembering who I was

After leaving those environments, I discovered that getting out was only one part of healing. I had to rebuild my self-trust.

I began thinking about times in my life when I had felt happy, ambitious, connected, and confident. Those memories helped me remember that the capable woman I had once known was still there.

As I told Jen during our conversation, my abilities had not disappeared. I simply needed to reconnect with them.

Becoming visible online became an important turning point. It was scary, but showing up allowed me to reclaim a part of myself that fear had taken away.

Turning experience into a way to help women

As I rebuilt, I realized other women were experiencing the same fear and uncertainty.

Many were working in toxic environments, doubting themselves, or wondering whether they were overreacting. Others wanted to leave but faced a very practical question: how can I afford to do it?

That understanding became part of my work.

Today I encourage women to identify the skills they already have, understand what they need financially, and begin creating a thoughtful path forward. Leaving a difficult job does not always have to happen overnight. Sometimes the first step is building a support system and preparing to leave safely.

My message is simple: use your skills to become independent from a job.

A new chapter is possible

This is not about pretending painful experiences were good. It is about acknowledging what happened without allowing that chapter to determine the rest of the story.

I now use what I learned to help women rebuild confidence, recognize their abilities, and see new possibilities for themselves.

In the episode, "What Happens When a Successful Career Stops Being Safe?", we talk about toxic workplaces, regaining confidence and self-trust, and why leaving isn't always as simple as "just quit."
